Initiatives for the SDGs
Our company is actively working towards the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
We have activities that consider not only the SDGs but also the future of society.

Operation of local demand taxis
Himeji City has many areas where public transportation is not available or is inconvenient because stations and bus stops are far away. These areas are also increasing. Himeji Taxi Co., Ltd., together with Himeji City Hall, is operating a shared taxi service, listening to the opinions of local residents and considering what is needed.
This is an initiative that addresses “11. Sustainable urban development” in the SDGs, particularly “Sustainable urban development that leaves no one behind” and “Reducing the impact of urban residents (per capita) on the environment by paying particular attention to air quality and waste disposal.
No animal leather is used for vehicle seats
Leather products require the use of a lot of water and chemicals in the manufacturing process for processing. In consideration of not consuming excessive animal life, reducing the dangers of the manufacturing process and the burden on nature, we offer vehicles that do not use genuine leather for the seats.
This is an initiative that addresses “12. Responsible Consumption and Production,”
“14. Protect the Abundance of the Sea,” and “15. Protect the Abundance of the Land.” In addition, many ethical vegan customers use our services.
Reduce travel by private car
Traveling by private car is very convenient, but long-distance travel emits a lot of carbon dioxide. For sightseeing and business trips, use public transportation as much as possible and leave the final trip to your destination to a taxi.
This is an initiative that addresses “13. Take concrete measures against climate change” in the SDGs.
Taxis are used to travel conveniently and in as little time as possible while reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
Environmentally friendly fuel
Taxis travel longer distances than regular vehicles. You might think they emit more greenhouse gases, but that is not actually the case. And this is because they are fueled by “LPG (liquefied petroleum gas),” which is a low-pollution fuel. The Japan Taxi model, which is being increasingly introduced, is an even more environmentally friendly LPG hybrid vehicle.
